the compressed globular body rising to a tall cylindrical neck, covered overall with a finely mottled opaque glaze of olive-green thinning at the rim to an amber tone, the base with an incised six-character mark

Provenance

Collection of Ambassador Edmund A. Gullion (1913-1998) acquired while stationed in Saigon from 1949-1952, and thence by descent.

Condition

There is a very minor .5 cm haircrack to the rim. The base has a glazed over firing star crack running partly through the bottom left character of the mark. The crack has some glue residue and was sealed with glue to make it watertight.
