rising from a short straight foot to slightly rounded conical sides with three notches around the rim, brightly enameled around the exterior with two five-clawed dragons leaping amidst multi-colored clouds above a band of foam-specked, wind-tossed waves, six-character seal mark in underglaze blue within double circles, wood stand (2)

A similar Yongzheng bowl of this pattern with its cover is in the Palace Museum, Beijing and illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - Porcelains in Polychrome and Contrasting Colours (38), Hong Kong, 1999, p.251, no. 230. Another similarly decorated pair without their covers were sold in our London rooms, 8th December 1990, lot 269.
