the deity Krishna in the form of Venugopala the cowherd, grasping a flute, with two adoring cows at his feet, flanked by two gopis or shepherdesses and an attendant figure holding a flywhisk, enclosed within a halo of elaborate foliate motif, with traces of gilding

Acquired in the United States, early 1970s. 

Condition

Wear and accretion overall. Scattered areas of loss including handheld attribute in goddess's left hand, some areas of foliate halo. With a stable crack along rear of base with break and restoration to foliate element along proper right halo edge.
