seated in lalitasana, with right hand extended in varada mudra holding a lotus, left hand raised holding a lotus, wearing the five-pointed crown, with plaited jatamukata topped with a finial, wearing the bodhisattva jewelry, and a diaphanous dhoti, with flowing scarves behind
Provenance
Previously in the collection of the late Waldo Ruess, 1909-2007. Mr. Ruess served in the U.S. Foreign Service, stationed in Tokyo, Chunking, Algiers, and Moscow between 1939 to 1946.
