each incised with a central medallion enclosing a scaly dragon, the underside with two dragons in pursuit of 'flaming pearls', the seal mark in underglaze blue (2)

Provenance

Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Armos H. Hoagland (1888-1918).

Condition

Both have minor wear to the interior and scattered small iron spots. One dish has two small hairline cracks running from the rim approximately 1.9 cm and 1.3 cm long. There is a small glazed over firing crack visible on the exterior approximately 2.5 cm long. The other has a restored section to the rim approximately 6.4 by 1.3 cm wide with an associate hairline crack approximately 8.3 cm long running to the center of the base resulting in overspray to one-third of the rim.
