Condition
Both sheets have been laid on Japanese paper. The edges are slightly uneven. There is some creasing in both sheets, most notably the two lower corners of the background sheet. There are a couple of repaired tears in the edges of the background sheet and some light surface scratches resulting above the Apostle's head. Both have discoloured and have spots of dirt in places. Held in a simple frame behind glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
The ballet Liturgie was never staged but Goncharova's costume designs were produced as a folio of 16 pochoirs in Lausanne in 1915 and a second edition of 18 was later published in Paris in 1927.
