Condition

Original canvas. There are slight frame abrasions at the edges with associated minor paint loss. There is a scratch to the surface of approximately 12cm running from the left edge through the couple on the far left. Scattered areas of paint loss are visible in the sky area which appear to have been retouched. Craquelure is visible throughout the paint surface but predominantly in the areas of white pigment and the impasto. The canvas has buckled slightly in the centre of the right edge. There is a light covering of surface dirt and some discolouration. Examination under UV light reveals scattered areas of minor retouching to the areas of paint loss and the scratch on the lower left. Held in a black and gold painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
