Condition

The canvas has been lined. There are restored horizontal scratches along the left of the upper edge. The upper right corner is slightly indented. Very fine craquelure is visible in places, mostly in the areas of white pigment. There are some surface scratches by the edge in the upper left quadrant as well as general frame abrasions with associated minor paint loss, most notably in the lower left corner. Examination under UV light reveals scattered areas of retouching to the upper and lower edges and throughout the composition. Held in a large gold painted moulded wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
