Condition

Original canvas which is slightly buckled in the upper left corner. There is a puncture in the upper right corner. Faint stretcher bar marks are visible along the bottom edge. Very fine cracking due to paint shrinkage is visible in places throughout the composition, notably in the sitter's clothing. There is a light layer of surface dirt throughout. Examination under UV light reveals a small area of retouching in the bridge of the sitter's nose. Held in a gold coloured wooden frame with plaster moulding.
