the icon with loss at lower border from a nail and with minimal underpainting on gospels, the surface of the icon heavily varnished; the flat plaque of the riza with a dent to the upper left corner and slightly bowed throughout, the left column with a 3 mm area of loss to cream-colored enamel ground, one of the green leaves at upper right also with an area of loss, a third area is visible on the identificatory plaque; the silk velvet with a faded inscription in black ink and four spots, probably from adhesive used to fix a dedicatory plaque, the case with a split to the cover and wear to the interior consistent with age and use
