the ivory medallion within a madder lozenge surrounded by indigo, with ivory to the corners of the field, overall palmettes and rosettes within the field, the madder border with palmettes and scrolling vines
Condition
Overall measurements: 133cm across the top, 128cm across the bottom, 199cm along left side, 197cm along right side
Pile dense, evenly sheared overall approx. 1mm, with wear to knot heads in central medallion and top, right hand side slightly stiff handle and damp bloom (needs cleaning), small patch in lower border, ends trimmed to edge of guard stripe and overlocked, section of repair on outermost upper edge on right hand side; decorative turn of the century rug.
