Description
- wool pile
- approximately 131 by 107cm; 4ft. 3in., 3ft. 6in.
Condition
Overall measurements: 103cm. across the top, 107cm across the bottom, 125cm along left side, 131cm along right side.
Generally even 3-5mm overall. Some even oxidisation to the browns. With some repair to brown highlights for example to the hands of the figure and to the yellow lettering to the top of the plain field. There are some small scattered re-piles for example top left inner border against the cream ground and to the right within the red field there is a red re-pile in the octagon. Other scattered small restoration of similar colouration. There is a large area of re-weaving in the top right corner from the outer edge through to the top of the octagon in the top right corner of the main field, approx. 17cm by 14cm and wider at the top and extending into the far right corner of the border therefore approx 35cm across the top as visible in the photograph. There is herringbone tape attached across the top and bottom edge with hoops attached attached at the top for hanging. The top and bottom edges have been slightly reduced and straightened and there is later running stitch. Original sidecords. Really charming design and unusual and a rare small size.
