Overall measurements: 83cm across the top, 92cm across the bottom, 166cm along left side, 159cm along right side
An unusual small sized Soumakh with rare design. Tapered and wider across the bottom (see dimensions above). Amber coloured ground in fair condition overall with some losses across horizontal area just below centre of main field, as visible in the photograph. There are some discoloured areas on right side of main field again as visible in photograph. There are also some discolourations in top left corner. Within the main field there are areas down to foundation due to the loss of coloured threads, for example to the stem motifs. Some oxidisation to the browns especially within the border, and visible especially on left side. Both ends with knotted end guards, fringing trimmed. Re-overcast side cords.
Lovely design with some charming details including three male figures (see detail on Contents page of printed catalogue for one of these figures) .
