  • bamboo (bambuseae)
deftly carved in the round as an immortal sitting astride a carp whilst playing a flute, dressed in loose robes tied around the body revealing his chest, all supported on a base in the form of tempestuous waves, the surface patinated to a warm brown colour

Condition

There are typical age cracks to the sculpture one of which on the base has slightly opened, as visible in the catalogue photo at the centre front. Other surface wear, but overall good condition.
