top hinged at center with one side lifting to reveal a compartmentalized interior, sliding tray and circular candlestands beneath top, the undertier with old circular paper label inscribed A.P.Watson.

Condition

Generally in good restored condition. The piece appears to have been re-polished in its long history. The top with a repaired split and it is slightly loose from base. The sliding tray beneath the top part will need securing as it easily comes out. All later removable brass compartments are present and with some oxidation and scratches. The under-tier with old wear and pitting and a very old rectangular patch has been attached to the underside to consolidate this wear. Usual nicks, bruises, and scratches consistent with use and age.
