4to (8 x 5 3/4 in.; 203 x 145 mm). Leaves Aaa - Mmm8, Nnn6 only, full-page woodcut map of Holy Land on leaf Nnn5; light marginal soiling or browning. Contemporary olive morocco, elaborately gilt-tooled with central oval scrollwork medallion in a silver scroll (now oxidized) in a field of scrolls and flowers, gilt-stamped cornerpieces at four corners, smooth spine gilt, remains of green silk ties, gilt and gauffered edges, initials "EESSF" stamped around central medallion, in a green cloth drop-box; head and foot of spine chipped, extremities worn.

Handsome Lyonnaise-style binding made for Matthew Parker (1504–1575), archbishop of Canterbury. This volume is part four of Parker's five-part set. Paul Needham, in Twelve Centuries of Bookbindings, no86, locates the first volume in the library of the Duke of Rutland, the second at Harvard, and the fifth (the New Testament) at the Morgan; the third volume is untraced.
