Description
- Imogen Cunningham
- 'Frida Kahlo Rivera'
- Gelatin silver print
mounted, signed and dated in pencil on the mount, the photographer's Green Street studio label, with typed title and date, on the reverse, framed, 1931, probably printed in the 1960s (Portraiture, pl. 57)
Condition
This photograph, on semi-glossy paper, is in generally excellent condition. Faint silvering is visible in raking light at the print's edges. There is tiny edge chipping to the tips of the upper left and lower right corners.
The print is mounted to thin board, which is faintly age-darkened along the right edge. There are fingerprints and isolated areas of discoloration (possibly foxing) on the reverse of the mount.
On the reverse of the mount is Cunningham's '1331 Green Street, San Francisco, CA' studio label. Cunningham lived and worked out of her Green Street home between 1947 and 1976.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this print appears to fluoresce.
