Description

- Shell Gas Stations and Products, California, 1960s
- approximately 154 chromogenic and gelatin silver prints
an album of approximately 154 photographs of Shell Service Stations, Products, Tankers, Training, Events, and Signs in California, comprising 136 chromogenic and 18 gelatin silver prints, several annotated in pencil on the reverse and each on black album pages sleeved in mylar, 1960s. Folio, red, black, and yellow leatherette 3-ring binder
Condition
The photographs in this personal photo album are in generally very good condition. A detailed report for each photograph or album page is beyond the scope of this condition report. The color drugstore-printed photographs have faded slightly but retain an appropriate amount of saturation for their age. A few of the photographs are captioned on the reverse in pencil. Many of the photographs have become detached from the black paper pages because the tiny pieces of cellulose tape affixing them have dried and have released the photographs. The pages are sleeved in clear mylar.
In the album is a business card from Robert J. Sweigart, sales manager for the Shell Oil Company.
Additional images from the album can be found in our electronic catalogue.
