Condition
This early print is on creamy single-weight paper with a semi-glossy surface. As is typical of Francesca Woodman's lifetime prints, the image has been printed slightly asymmetrically on the sheet. The edges are slightly rubbed, and there are creases at the upper and lower margin corners. There are two pinholes in the upper margin and one in the lower margin, not affecting the image. Upon close examination, the area around the periphery of the image appears to be somewhat lighter in color.
When examined in raking light, a number of small creases that do not appear to break the emulsion are visible overall. These are not apparent when viewing the photograph under normal conditions.
Dry-mounting tissue covers most of the reverse of the print, and in the lower left corner is a rice paper tape remnant.
This print has undergone conservation, and a treatment report is available upon request.
