Overall the condition of the stucco is good, with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is wear to the polychromy throughout, including flaking and craquelure, notably to the proper left side of the Child's head, the Virgin's nose, the Angels' faces, and throughout the background. There are various chips, notably to the Child's forehead on the proper left side and to the hair of the putto head at the bottom. There are several fissures running through the relief, including from the top across the Virgin's neck and vertically down her body; and running diagonally across the top right, the bottom right, and the bottom left quarters of the relief; there is wax fill in some of these areas. There is wear to the gilding of the frame throughout, revealing a red ground in several areas. There are several chips and minor losses, notably at the edges and particularly at the bottom edge. There is some evidence of non-active worming, leading to minor losses throughout, and there are a few holes around the top. The velvet covered mount is in good condition with minor wear along the edges. There is a metal mount for hanging to the back.
