Condition
Overall the condition of the ring is very good with some wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are a few knocks at the apex of the hoop and there are areas of nicks to the edges of the hoop. There are some minor scratches to the surface of the bezel. The number 'IAA 990' is loosely engraved on the underside of the bezel.
Together with a pink and gilt tooled leather box, lined with cream silk and velvet, inscribed: CHARIG LTD. / COURT JEWELLERS / 38 OLD BOND ST.
The box has wear throughout.

Catalogue Note
Signet rings from this period rarely have goldsmiths’ marks. The mark on the present ring resembles that on another armorial signet ring dated to the same period in the British Museum (inv. no. AF.837).
