Condition
Overall the condition of the silver relief is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The silver has darkened in several places, notably in the crevices. There are a few minor areas of tarnishing, consistent with the material, including to the floor to the right of Christ and to Christ's proper right leg and knees. There is a hole to the top of Christ's head, probably for the insertion of a lost halo. The background of the relief is slightly uneven in places. There are a few minor nicks and scratches, notably at the far sides of the relief on the left and right.
The gilt copper frame is in good condition with some darkening to the gilding in the crevices and minor surface wear. There are a few minor losses to the decoration at the bottom edge of the frame. The front of the frame is attached to a metal plate covering the back, and the joints are slightly uneven in places.
