Provenance

with Remco van Leeuwen, Eindhoven

Condition

Overall the condition of the wood is good, with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is wear to the polychromy throughout including a few losses, notably to the book and to a fold of the drapery at the legs. There are two black marks to the same fold of drapery and to the tower above the door. The proper right forearm of the saint is lost. There are a few further losses due to past worming, notably to the top of the tower, the Saint's crown at the top, the proper right side of the base and a small section of the Saint's mantle, and a section of the base below the tower. There is further evidence of past worming throughout the back and to the middle section of the tower. There is some stable splitting of the wood consistent with the material, notably an open split to the Saint's drapery at the base.
