Condition
Both canvases have been laid on board, the paint surfaces are stable with a clear varnish. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV light reveals a very streaky varnish that fluoresces opaque. Brushed repaint is visible in some patches in the back ground and darker tones of the portrait of the gentleman. Other scattered retouchings and strengthenings are visible throughout both pictures. Older further restoration may also exist under the opaque varnish.
