Description
- Alexandre François Desportes
- Study of Rougeaude, a beagle belonging to Louix XIV
- oil on paper, laid on card
Condition
Please note that this work has not been viewed out of its current mount.
Paper laid down on board, the four edges of the sheet are seemingly covered somewhat by the current mount. There are some small repaired tears and nicks to the lower edge of the sheet and a small repaired tear circa 1 cm from the forequarters of the dog and a similar repaired tear to the left of the dog's rear left leg. There is some slight staining and surface dirt to the extremities of the sheet. Otherwise the work appears in good condition with the medium fresh and vibrant throughout.
Sold in a modern giltwood frame.
