Condition
The canvas is lined, the paint surface is secure and stable. The picture is in fair overall condition. The varnish is clear if somewhat patchy. There are patches of minor wear throughout but no major damages are visible, and inspection under ultra violet light reveals two campaigns of scattered restoration throughout. The earlier restoration is focused mainly on minimalizing the effect to craquelure in the flesh tones of the child and the Madonna, the later campaign is focused on the darker tones and strengthenings in the details of the fabrics.
