Description

  • The Holy Family
  • oil on panel, unframed

Condition

The panel, made of of one plank of wood, is uncradled. Two horizontal batons act as support. The paint surface is secure, other than a horizontal crack in the paint of approximately 15 cm, visible just above Joseph's staff. The paint surface is dirty but this is superficial and should clean well. Underneath the colours are rich and vibrant. Discoloured retouchings can also be seen. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals an even varnish and small scattered retouchings throughout the figures. The work is offered unframed.
