Description

Condition

The panel is uncradled and has two vertical wooden bars inserted into the reverse. A vertical split, with resultant paint loss either side, is visible running the length of the panel, just to the left of the face. Retouching to an area of paint loss measuring approximately 25 by 7 cm is visible to the right of the head. A retouched area of paint loss measuring 3 by 1 cm is visible at the centre of the forehead. Further scattered retouching is visible in the flesh tones and the fabrics. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a varnish and confirms these retouchings. The lot is offered in a gilt wood carved framed with a few knocks.
