Catalogue Note
The present work is a preparatory sketch, executed circa 1828, for the ceiling painting of the same subject in the Egyptian galleries of the Louvre. Picot also completed Study and Genius Unveiling Ancient Egypt to Greece, finished in time for the Salon of 1827 and also in the Egyptian Galleries of the Louvre.
