Acquired by the grandparents of the present owner;

Condition

Oil on panel, cradled. It appears there are three pieces of wood joined together vertically; these joins have been retouched, which is visible to the naked eye. These extend top to bottom on either side of the sitter's face. A few raised dots of inpaint along the upper and lower edges but otherwise the surface is generally clean and fresh. Under UV light, the previously mentioned panel joins and raised dots appear under UV light. There are also small dots and dashes of inpaint scattered across the sitter's face, ruff and hands and strengthening to the shadows in his costume.
