Oil on canvas, lined. The surface is covered by a shiny, unevenly applied varnish. There is a web of craquelure over the picture, most of which has some texture, and stretcher bar marks. Under UV light, there are a few spots of inpainting visible along the stretcher bar marks as well as a few spots scattered near Jesus' hairline. A few additional dots and dashes of inpainting scattered over the work though the majority is obscured by the green fluorescing varnish.
