Condition

The canvas is relined, the paint surface is stable, and the varnish is even and discoloured. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. There is a very slight degree of wear in the top of the sails and flags in the centre, and some frame abrasion along the lower margin. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a thick and opaque varnish with few and very minor scattered retouchings visible. In good overall condition. Offered in carved and gesso gilt wood frame in fair condition.
