Condition

The picture is made up of three horizontal panels, it is uncradled. From the back the joins appear stable, but both have been repaired as is visible on the recto. The paint surface is overall in good condition and details of the delicate brushstrokes in the fruit are well-preserved. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows a milky varnish, with two small patches removed, presumably for testing, lower left and lower right. There are two vertical retouchings measuring 2 cm. each, below the peach on the left. Retouching to both joins as aforementioned. Otherwise only very light and delicate spot retouchings in the background above the peaches. The lot is offered in gilt wood frame with decorative mouldings, aged, but in good condition.
