Condition

The painting is in good overall condition, the canvas has been relined and the varnish is even if somewhat discoloured. Visible to the naked eye is an old line of restored frame abrasion along the upper margin, and some tiny surface accretions throughout. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a campaign of scattered strengthenings throughout and some minor localised retouchings in the lower right hand corner. This lot is offered in a simple carved and gilt wood frame in good condition, with only a few minor losses.
