Catalogue Note
This monumental, actual size drawing and its damaged companion in the Odiot collection are all that survive of a magnificent gift that the city of Paris gave to Marie-Louise de Habsbourg-Lorraine on the occasion of her marriage to Napoleon in 1810. Marie-Louise is represented within this design by Flora, who is accompanied on top of the mirror's frame by putti personifying the arts and sciences.
