Condition

Measurements 127cm wide across the top, 124cm. across the bottom, 176cm long left side, 175cm long right side. Dense even overall pile, closely sheared, approx. 2mm. Lustrous wool. Red slightly oxidised, speckles in lower end of field appear to be contemporary with the rest of the red, possibly that the original dye has faded in these places. Even fine weave with flexible handle, original side cords, fringes trimmed. Lower right corner very minor repair (approx. 11cm. long by 0.5cm, into the green stripe on edge of the outer guard, small split at end of reweave. Upper left hand corner with minute repair on corner (approx. 1 x 1cm. Specialist Comment: Fabulous colour, beautiful and unusual crushed raspberry field. Intriguing contrast between bold open graphics in the field and variety of motifs in each of the borders. Lovely rug.
