Catalogue Note
FIRST EDITION. Bouelles (1478/9-1553), canon of Noyon, studied under Jacques Lefèvre d'Étaples. He was the author of the first book on geometry in French, but also the author of numerous philosophical and spiritual works. These two short treatises are about the vision of St Paul on the road to Damascus and the divine inspiration of Old Testament visions; the former was a subject that Ficino, another devotee of mystical theology, had also written about.
