Catalogue Note

A lavish publication, published by subscription, with engravings by Dutch artists. Nine of the plates are copies of Andrea Mantegna's Triumphs of Caesar, commissioned in the late fifteenth century for the Gonzaga palace in Mantua, later in the possession of Charles I and now at Hampton Court.
