Catalogue Note

A collection of poems and illustrations by Lasker-Schüler and published by Der Querschnitt, an art magazine established in 1921 by Alfred Flechtheim, a successful art dealer in 1920s Germany. Both Lasker-Schüler and Flechtheim fell foul of the Nazis, the former escaping to Israel and the latter dying in London.
