Catalogue Note

A collection of Lenten sermons by the Observant Franciscan Antonius de Vercellis (died 1483). The dedicatee of this book, the Franciscan Vicar General Ludovico Della Torre, was the author of a polemical riposte to Bandello's tract on the immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary (see lot 10).
