Condition

Not viewed out of the frame. The panel appears sound. There are some fine lines of craquelure in scattered areas across the work, only visible upon close inspection. There are some small flecks of loss apparent to the tips of the raised impasto, most apparent to the black pigment at the table legs, seat of the chair, flowers and window, with one or two extremely tiny flecks of loss to the grey pigment in the lower left corner. There are one or two spots of light surface dirt. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
