Condition

The sheet is fully laid down onto backing card. The sheet appears sound. The edges of the central lower collaged element appear to lift slightly towards the left side of the work, but otherwise the collaged elements appear securely attached. There are several areas of loss to the figure of the girl in the upper right corner, and there is evidence of some very slight lifting and flaking to the area of loss at the girl's lower waist. There is some possible fading to the figure in the lower left corner. There is a line of old discoloured adhesive to the upper right of the lower collaged element. There is some slight staining and discolouration apparent to the edges of the sheet, apparent primarily to the centre of the left vertical edge. There are some very small scattered spots of foxing, primarily apparent towards the lower half of the work. There are some spots of light surface dirt, primarily towards the upper horizontal edge and at the upper left corner. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. The work is presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
