Description
- Frank Auerbach
- Two Sketches for 'The House'
- one signed and dated 2015
- felt-tip pen and graphite
- each: 21 by 20cm.; 8ΒΌ by 8in.
Provenance
Gift of the Artist
Condition
Not examined out of the frame. Both sheets appear to be adhered to a single supporting board. There are some pinholes in the corners of the sheets which appear to be in keeping with the artist's working method and the outside vertical edges of both works are slight uneven. On close examination it is possible to see a very minor crease in the upper right corner of the right hand sheet. Scattered very light surface dirt and studio detritus is visible in both works. With the exception of the above the works appears to be in very good overall condition and the pigments are strong.
The works are float mounted and held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
