Condition
Original canvas. There are some surface scuffs and very light scratching across the work, predominantly towards the bottom of the composition, with some small associated losses. There are some vertical lines of paint cracking towards the center of the composition, which appear to be consistent with pushes from the stretcher bar. There are scattered areas of surface dirt and matter across the piece, and some tiny flecks of paint loss, only visible upon extremely close examination, in the bottom half of the work.
Ultraviolet light reveals some small spots of fluorescence in the white grid at the lower right of the composition, and in the black pigment below the taps. There is a further line of fluorescence to the right of the lower horizontal edge, which appears to be consistent with a scratch, and another spot in the lower right corner. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
The work is housed in the artist's own painted wooden frame, further framed in an aluminium tray frame.
