Condition
The sheet is fully laid down onto a supporting board which is adhered to a window mount. The supporting board appears to undulate very slightly. There are pinholes at each of the four corners of the sheet, consistent with the artist's working method. On close examination it is possible to see some fine lines of paint cracking scattered across the work and some areas of reticulation particularly in the yellow and red pigments. Some of the raised areas of impasto have been flattened slight. This is likely to have occurred shortly after the work was executed, while the paint was still wet. There is some evidence of old brown tape at the left vertical edge of the composition. With exception of the above the appears to be in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of florescence or retouching.
The work is presented in a linen wrapped window mount and gilt frame.
