London, Waddington Galleries, John Piper: Flower Paintings, 22nd June - 16th July 1988, (ex. cat.).
Condition
Not viewed out of the frame. The sheet appears to be affixed to the backing card. The sheet undulates slightly, but appears sound. The left vertical edge of the sheet appears uneven, most probably inkeeping with the artist's working method. There is some very light craquelure and some very small flecks of loss to the flowers painted in ink towards the centre of the composition, and some of the thicker areas of impasto elsewhere. There is some very light surface dirt. Subject to the above, the work appears in very good condition overall, with fresh, vibrant colours throughout.
The work is float-mounted in a painted wooden frame, held under glass.
