Condition
Not viewed out of the frame. The sheet appears to have been affixed to the mount with tabs. The edges of the sheet appear slightly uneven. The upper half of the right vertical edge appears to have been torn away, and this has been replaced with a similar section of paper. The sheet undulates slightly, with some small soft creases, most apparent towards the upper horizontal edge. There are artist's pin holes in the corners. There are three small repaired tears to the sheet along the upper horizontal edge and a further small tear to the upper arm of the figure on the right. There is a small spot of staining to the bottom of the cloak on the figure to the right of the composition. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition, with strong and stable pigments.
The work is float mounted and presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass.
