Catalogue Note

Yusra Martunus’ paintings are predominantly a study between human beings and found objects, with the works experimenting with a variety of mediums to analyze this complex relationship. As a member of the Jendela Art Group based in Yogyakarta, his artworks are a continuous manipulation of materials and themes that challenge creative norms. He titles all of his works with numbers, which provides an interesting avenue for viewers to contemplate the meaning behind each piece.
