Condition
The work is in excellent overall condition, as is the canvas which is clear and taut. The paint layers are healthy overall. There is evidence of very minor abrasions to the edges of the work, but this does not affect the overall image. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of restoration. Framed.

Catalogue Note
Yusra Martunus’ paintings are predominantly a study between human beings and found objects, with the works experimenting with a variety of mediums to analyze this complex relationship. As a member of the Jendela Art Group based in Yogyakarta, his artworks are a continuous manipulation of materials and themes that challenge creative norms. He titles all of his works with numbers, which provides an interesting avenue for viewers to contemplate the meaning behind each piece.
6201 reflects a significant transition within his artistic practice, for the painting explores three-dimensional shapes within a two-dimensional plane. In Yusra’s paintings shapes and forms are gifted with new modes of expression, providing viewers with exciting tools in which to interpret the material world.
