Catalogue Note
A rare early figurative painting from Raza's oeuvre, this painting is clearly influenced by the work of Amrita Sher-Gil. Sher-Gil's Group of Three Girls painted in 1935 at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi could well have been the inspiration for the current lot.
