Description

  • Abraham Bisschop
  • A mute swan, a goose, and other fowl on a wooded river bank
  • oil on canvas, circular

Condition

The canvas has a recent and firm relining. The paint surface is clean and stable. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye, and the varnish appears clear. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals that the varnish has been unevenly cleaned, presumably to lighten the darker passages of the paint surface. There are scattered localised retouchings and strengthenings throughout. In fair condition. Offered in a square wood gilt frame in good condition.
